Drilling Foreman

About the role

Our client, a leading mining operation, is seeking an experienced Drilling Foreman to supervise and coordinate all drilling activities on the mine site. The role ensures drilling is carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with production targets, geological requirements, company procedures and mining regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily drilling activities, allocate work to drill operators and support personnel.
• Plan and coordinate drilling in line with mine plans, production schedules and geological specifications.
• Ensure drilling patterns, depths, angles, hole diameters and locations meet design requirements.
• Conduct pre‑start inspections and verify equipment safety and fitness for operation.
• Monitor equipment performance, report defects promptly and coordinate maintenance.
• Coordinate with Mining, Blasting, Maintenance and Survey departments.
• Maintain accurate drilling records, production and shift reports.
• Enforce safety standards, mining regulations and environmental requirements.
• Lead toolbox talks, pre‑shift meetings and safety briefings.
• Train, coach and mentor drill operators and junior personnel.

Required profile

• Technical qualification in Drilling, Mining, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 10–15 years of practical drilling experience, preferably in open‑pit or underground mining.
• Extensive experience supervising drilling crews and operating/overseeing drilling equipment.
• Strong knowledge of mining regulations, safety standards and environmental compliance.
