Director of Medical Services

About the role

The Director of Medical Services will provide strategic and clinical leadership for a leading private hospital, overseeing patient care excellence, clinical performance, medical governance and business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for all medical and clinical services and drive quality, safety and evidence‑based practice.
• Monitor and improve key clinical performance indicators and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Partner with senior management to develop and execute revenue and profitability strategies, expanding services and new specialties.
• Lead medical research, clinical studies and innovation, fostering collaborations with academic and industry partners.
• Oversee clinical governance, audits, risk management and credentialing processes.
• Lead, mentor and develop consultants, medical officers and multidisciplinary teams, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• MBBS qualification (mandatory).
• Registration with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) (mandatory).
• Additional postgraduate qualifications or relevant experience in medical leadership (preferred).
