Director, Next Generation Architecture – Aerospace & Defense

About the role

We are seeking a Director of Next Generation Architecture for our Aerospace & Defense business. The role combines deep technical expertise with people leadership, driving AI‑enabled software development across autonomous product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead one or more autonomous product teams while maintaining principal‑engineer level technical depth.
• Guide architectural decisions and set technical standards for enterprise software.
• Drive AI adoption across teams, integrating AI‑assisted development workflows and AI‑powered product capabilities.
• Ensure teams can design, develop, test, and validate AI‑driven features throughout the full delivery lifecycle.
• Coach and mentor engineers, fostering responsible use of AI tools.

Required profile

• Proven engineering leader with experience as a principal engineer or architect.
• Strong fluency in AI/ML concepts and practical integration patterns.
• Ability to balance technical depth with people management.
• Experience delivering enterprise software in complex domains such as aerospace or defense.

Required skills

• AI/ML integration patterns (e.g., Retrieval‑Augmented Generation, agentic architectures, evaluation harnesses).
• Software architecture and design for large‑scale enterprise systems.
• AI‑assisted development workflows and responsible AI tool usage.
