Development Facilitator

About the role

The Development Facilitator works within communities to enable mutual transformation for children, families, supporters, partners and World Vision staff. Acting as a catalyst, partnership broker and capacity builder, the role supports community‑led initiatives that improve child wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate World Vision’s mission, vision and values effectively to all stakeholders.
• Develop a strong understanding of the local context, ensuring the voices of children and youth are heard.
• Mobilise and strengthen community groups and key stakeholders to improve child well‑being.
• Build close relationships through home visits, community immersion and participation in local events.
• Ensure programme quality through planning, implementation and monitoring, and report progress to management and donors.
• Lead technical projects within the primary focus area, managing budgets and adhering to World Vision policies.
• Document lessons learned and significant change stories for regular reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in community development or programme/project coordination within an international NGO.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Development Studies, Community Development or a related field.
• Experience in capacity building for local partners and working with children.
• Basic knowledge of child protection, nutrition/health, livelihoods, resilience and cross‑cutting themes such as gender and environment.

Required skills

• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills in Tamil.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to ride a motorbike with a valid licence.
