Demi Chef De Partie

About the role

Taprobane House, a luxury boutique hotel in Colombo, is looking for a motivated Demi Chef De Partie to join the culinary team at Taprobane Table. Reporting to the Head Chef and Operations Supervisor, you will contribute to the delivery of a refined Sri Lankan‑infused Western menu for both hotel guests and local patrons.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes across all service periods.
• Support menu development and the introduction of new dishes that align with the restaurant’s unique concept.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, presentation, and consistency.
• Ensure strict adherence to hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP food safety standards.
• Participate in inventory management, waste reduction, and cost‑control initiatives.
• Help maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functionality.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a hotel or boutique restaurant setting.
• Strong culinary creativity and a passion for blending Sri Lankan flavors with Western techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Commitment to teamwork, continuous learning, and upholding safety standards.
