Civil Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Pragathi Civil Construction is seeking a full‑time Civil Engineer to join its on‑site team in Kandy. You will be responsible for planning, designing and supervising a variety of infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges and water‑related systems, while ensuring compliance with safety standards and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical drawings, specifications and detailed design calculations.
• Conduct site inspections, surveys and monitor progress against schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to resolve engineering issues.
• Review contractor work, enforce quality control and support risk mitigation.
• Apply modern construction technologies and digital tools to improve project delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Strong foundation in civil engineering design principles and infrastructure projects.
• Experience in planning, coordination and execution of construction works, preferably in road, bridge, building or water infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Sri Lankan building codes, safety standards and infrastructure regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
