Chief Liability Manager – Fixed Deposit & Liability Sales

About the role

We are looking for a results‑driven senior banking professional to lead our Fixed Deposit and liability sales portfolio. The role will shape strategy, drive deposit growth, and manage high‑performing regional and branch teams within a leading financial institution.

Key responsibilities

• Drive Fixed Deposit growth and achieve fund mobilization targets.
• Develop and execute customer acquisition, retention, and renewal strategies.
• Lead, mentor and inspire regional and branch teams to meet business objectives.
• Build and strengthen relationships with HNIs, corporate clients and key partners.
• Identify new market opportunities to expand the liability portfolio and improve profitability.
• Plan and run sales campaigns, customer engagement initiatives and business development activities.
• Monitor performance, oversee recruitment, coaching, training and succession planning.
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies and operational standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, Finance or related field; professional banking qualifications are a plus.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in banking or NBFI, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role managing Fixed Deposits or liability sales.
• Proven track record of achieving business targets and leading high‑performing sales teams.
• Strong knowledge of Fixed Deposits, liability products, financial markets and customer relationship management.
• Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially driven with a passion for business development and long‑term client relationships.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Sri Lanka.
