Cashier & Steward All‑Rounder

About the role

Join Sydney Hotel, a historic hospitality landmark in Galle, as a full‑time Cashier Steward All‑Rounder. You will be the first point of contact for guests, handling transactions, serving food and beverages, and keeping the service areas tidy.

Key responsibilities

• Process cash and card payments accurately, issue receipts and maintain transaction records.
• Welcome guests, take orders, serve food and drinks, and ensure a pleasant dining experience.
• Clear tables, handle dishware, and keep service areas clean and organized.
• Restock supplies and support kitchen and bar staff during peak periods.
• Assist with basic housekeeping and administrative tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service attitude with polite communication and patience.
• Basic cash‑handling and numeracy skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, work in a team and adapt to busy periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic proficiency in English and local languages spoken in Galle.

Required skills

• Operation of a point‑of‑sale (POS) system.
