Balance Sheet Reconciliation Accountant

About the role

Reporting to the BS Reconciliation Manager and based in Sri Lanka, the Balance Sheet Reconciliation Accountant will support the Group Balance Sheet Reconciliation function across all entities. The role focuses on centralising balance‑sheet reconciliation processing and ensuring uniform global procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile and analyse balance‑sheet accounts to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and balances comply with GAAP and company policy.
• Perform daily reconciliations and facilitate an accurate monthly closing.
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items within reconciliations.
• Maintain standard month‑end balance‑sheet reconciliation templates.
• Collaborate with Finance to deliver month‑end balance‑sheet reports.
• Reconcile general‑ledger and sub‑ledger accounts to source data and systems.
• Identify and implement improvements to increase reconciliation efficiency and accuracy.
• Process group balance‑sheet reconciliation globally in line with IFRS/GAAP and IFS accounting policies.
• Interface with global accounting, consolidation, treasury, shared‑service and cost‑control teams.
