Audit Manager – Banking & Finance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead risk‑based external audit engagements for banks and financial institutions. You will work closely with clients to ensure compliance with international auditing standards and local regulatory frameworks while delivering high‑quality audit outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit engagements for banking and financial services clients in line with ISA and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate compliance with Basel frameworks, AML regulations, and other banking standards.
• Assess financial and operational controls across key business functions.
• Plan, execute, and complete financial statement audits within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Identify process risks and recommend practical solutions to strengthen governance.
• Design and execute audit testing strategies for internal control frameworks.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing timely audit insights.
• Coach and mentor junior audit staff and manage engagement resources efficiently.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification (CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, ICAEW, CPA or equivalent).
• 5–7 years of external audit experience with significant exposure to banking and financial services.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, ISA, banking regulations, Basel frameworks and AML requirements.
• Proven leadership, project management and people‑management abilities.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
