Associate Engineer – Business Intelligence

About the role

We are looking for an Associate Engineer to join our Business Intelligence team in Colombo. You will design, build, and maintain Power BI solutions that turn raw data into actionable insights for our logistics operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and apps based on business requirements.
• Build semantic data models, define relationships, measures, and hierarchies for accurate reporting.
• Write DAX measures and use Power Query to transform data for reporting.
• Manage Power BI administration tasks and optimise report performance.
• Develop SQL and Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, and statistical analysis.
• Conduct data validation, quality assurance checks, and resolve discrepancies.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and gather end‑user feedback.
• Investigate data issues, identify root causes, and support business decision‑making.
• Maintain clear documentation for reports, data models, and testing outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in Business Intelligence and analytics.
• Strong communication, presentation skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• CIFFA and Dangerous Goods certifications are an asset.
