Assistant Vice President – Technology Risk Management

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Technology Risk professional to lead our technology risk governance, cyber risk oversight, and operational resilience initiatives within a banking environment. The role reports to senior leadership and provides strategic risk insights to drive informed decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and enhance the Technology Risk Management framework, risk assessment methodologies, KRIs, reporting standards and governance practices.
• Conduct independent technology risk assessments for digital initiatives, infrastructure changes, applications, cloud services and critical technology projects.
• Review and challenge cybersecurity controls, vulnerability management, incident management processes and remediation activities.
• Provide risk oversight for cloud, outsourced and third‑party technology arrangements, including fintech partnerships and managed services.
• Oversee technology resilience, disaster recovery and business continuity readiness from a risk management perspective.
• Prepare risk dashboards, committee papers and Board‑level reporting on technology risk exposures and emerging threats.
• Coordinate technology risk interactions with regulators, auditors and governance forums.
• Lead and develop the Technology Risk Management team while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships across IT, Information Security, Digital Banking, Operations and Business Units.

Required profile

• 10+ years of professional experience with at least 5 years in managerial or specialist roles in Technology Risk, Cybersecurity, IT Audit, Information Security or Operational Risk.
• Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, Risk Management, Finance or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in banking or financial services environments.
• Strong understanding of technology risk frameworks, cyber risk management, IT governance, cloud risk, outsourcing risk, data protection, change management, operational resilience and business continuity management.
• Exposure to regulatory engagement, audit management, committee reporting and risk governance practices.
• Excellent analytical, stakeholder management, presentation and report‑writing skills.
