Assistant Teacher – Elocution, Phonics & Public Speaking

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to support young learners in developing elocution, phonics, and public speaking skills. You will work with children aged 2‑4 in a vibrant classroom environment at our Kaduwela centre.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in delivering elocution, phonics and public speaking sessions.
• Prepare and organise teaching materials and visual aids.
• Provide individual support to children to build confidence in speaking.
• Monitor and record each child’s progress and share observations with the lead teacher.
• Maintain a safe, engaging and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Comfortable and confident working with children aged 2‑4.
• Residence near Malabe, Kaduwela or Biyagama.
• Availability on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (12:30 pm – 5:30 pm) and on Saturday & Sunday (8:00 am – 5:00 pm). Days off are Monday & Friday.
