Assistant Tax Manager – Taxation & Treasury

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Tax Manager to join the Taxation & Treasury team of a leading Sri Lankan financial services group. The role combines tax compliance, advisory, and treasury operations, supporting the organization’s financial integrity and regulatory adherence.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee tax compliance and reporting, including computation, payment and filing of income tax, VAT, FS‑VAT, WHT and stamp duty, as well as deferred tax and statutory disclosures.
• Manage tax advisory matters, respond to IRD queries, coordinate with tax consultants and keep senior management informed of legislative changes.
• Supervise treasury activities such as cash‑flow monitoring, bank reconciliations, fund transfers, borrowings, investments, liquidity management and funding forecasts.
• Maintain accurate treasury, loan and investment records, ensuring all necessary approvals and resolutions are documented.
• Drive ERP integration and process automation for tax and treasury functions, collaborating with IT to enhance controls, reporting dashboards and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related discipline from a recognized university.
• Full or part qualification in CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent professional body.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in taxation and treasury, preferably within a financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan tax laws, financial reporting standards and treasury processes.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication abilities.

• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems.
