Assistant Procurement Manager – Manufacturing (Galle)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Procurement Manager to support end‑to‑end procurement activities for a leading manufacturing organization in Galle. The role involves managing local and overseas sourcing, supplier relationships, and import logistics to ensure timely material availability for production.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement of local and overseas materials, from supplier identification to purchase order authorization.
• Negotiate prices, MOQs, payment terms, lead times and other commercial conditions.
• Coordinate imports, shipping schedules, freight arrangements and customs clearance.
• Monitor inventory levels, excess stock and material availability against production plans.
• Drive cost‑reduction initiatives through supplier negotiations and alternative sourcing.
• Prepare reports on procurement performance, supplier reliability and landed costs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Management, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of procurement, purchasing or material management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with local and overseas sourcing, supplier management and import procurement.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Ability to work onsite full‑time at the Galle factory.
