Assistant Manager - Tax

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Manager – Tax to lead the preparation, submission and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of corporate and individual tax clients. The role involves ensuring compliance with Sri Lankan tax regulations and delivering high‑quality service to our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and submission of Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Individual Income Tax (IIT), VAT, SSCL, APIT, and WHT returns.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory deadlines and regulations.
• Provide tax advisory services on complex tax matters.
• Manage a portfolio of tax clients across various industries and act as the main point of contact for tax‑related issues.
• Coordinate all matters with the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) as required.
• Supervise and guide tax team members, allocate work, monitor performance and review/approve their output.
• Develop tax planning strategies and identify tax‑saving opportunities within legal frameworks.
• Support business development initiatives within the tax division.
• Handle tax audits, investigations and inquiries from authorities.

Required profile

• Fully qualified CA Sri Lanka (ACA) or member of CTA (CASL) or the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Sri Lanka.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in tax, preferably in a professional firm.
• Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan tax regulations.
• Proven ability to handle multiple clients and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong analytical, leadership and communication skills.
