Assistant Manager – Ship Chandelling

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic, commercially driven and customer‑focused professional to join our team as Assistant Manager – Ship Chandelling. The role is responsible for driving growth and profitability of the ship chandelling business while ensuring seamless end‑to‑end service delivery to vessels calling at Sri Lankan ports.

Key responsibilities

• Identify new customers, markets and revenue opportunities to grow the ship chandelling portfolio.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with ship owners, managers, operators, procurement organisations and suppliers.
• Develop partnerships with international ship chandelling companies and maritime service providers to secure long‑term contracts.
• Lead commercial negotiations, prepare quotations and proposals, and manage pricing strategies to meet revenue and profit targets.
• Manage a reliable supplier network, ensuring competitive pricing, quality products and timely delivery.
• Oversee end‑to‑end ship chandelling operations, guaranteeing efficient execution and high customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with Inchcape’s global network and regional offices to leverage business opportunities.
• Monitor business performance, market trends and supplier effectiveness to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in ship chandelling, maritime supply chain or related shipping services.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of business development and revenue generation.
• Ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Excellent understanding of maritime stakeholders such as ship owners, managers and procurement organisations.
• Results‑oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high service standards.
