Assistant Manager – Planning

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Planning will lead a team of planners and operational specialists to ensure optimal plant loading across the cluster and timely order processing. This role is pivotal in achieving on‑time delivery targets and supporting sustainable production in the apparel manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all plants in the cluster are loaded at optimal capacity to meet monthly budgeted targets.
• Recommend order transfers based on plant capacity status, resolving over‑capacity or under‑capacity situations.
• Lead the team to maintain a 100% On‑Time Delivery (OTD) performance.
• Drive a comprehensive 5M risk forecast (Man, Machine, Material, Method, Marketing) for the upcoming month aligned with Time and Action plans.
• Monitor production timelines against planned TnA plans and collaborate with stakeholders to address deviations.
• Prepare and present regular reports on capacity planning, loading, shipment delivery, and other KPIs to management.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders.
• Mentor and coach junior team members.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management to ensure effective department functioning.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations, Project Management, Management or a related field.
• Master's degree in a relevant discipline (preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain management within the apparel or textile industry.
