Assistant Manager, Financial Accounting and Control

About the role

The Assistant Manager, Financial Accounting and Control will join the Finance Center of Excellence (CoE) to deliver centralized accounting and control services for the subsidiaries of the London Stock Exchange Group. The role focuses on standardising processes, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring accurate financial reporting while collaborating with key finance partners.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting and control services to Group subsidiaries.
• Standardise and document processes, building resilience within the team.
• Onboard new scope and align processes to the target operating model.
• Develop training materials and onboarding plans for new joiners.
• Ensure compliance with Group policies, robust financial controls, and tight reporting timelines.
• Drive efficiency initiatives and support the integration of new activities.
• Assist external audit teams, responding to queries and requests.
• Support Group projects, including implementation of new systems and processes.
• Partner with Entity Accountants, Financial Controllers, Group Reporting and Statutory Reporting teams.

Required profile

• Professional accounting degree.
• 5‑8 years of experience in general accounting, preferably in a large organisation or finance shared‑services environment.
• Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience managing large, cross‑geography teams.
• Strong understanding of accounting concepts and financial reporting.
• Excellent Excel skills for complex spreadsheet modelling.
• Track record of standardising processes and documentation.
• Collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
