Assistant HR Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant HR Manager to support and strengthen our Human Resources and Administration functions at a growing specialty coffee company in Colombo. The role offers the chance to work closely with business leaders, drive talent initiatives, and ensure operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning and talent acquisition.
• Partner with department heads on manpower, succession and organisational development.
• Drive employee engagement, performance management and employee‑relations programmes.
• Develop and enforce HR policies, ensure compliance with Sri Lankan labour laws and maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate payroll inputs, leave administration, benefits, attendance and overall HR operations.
• Identify training needs and organise learning and development activities.
• Oversee administration of company vehicles, transport, facilities, vendors, security, office supplies, IT assets and statutory licences.
• Prepare HR reports and workforce analytics to aid management decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 7 years HR & Administration experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan labour laws, payroll administration, statutory compliance, recruitment, performance management and employee relations.
• Proven leadership, communication, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
