About the role
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Finance Manager to lead our Finance function at Soul Coffee Company in Colombo. The role combines strategic financial governance with commercial insight to drive profitability, strengthen controls, and support the company’s growth across manufacturing, retail, distribution and specialty coffee solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Finance Department, providing coaching, performance management and day‑to‑day oversight.
- Develop and implement financial strategies, annual budgets, forecasts and business plans aligned with long‑term growth objectives.
- Prepare, review and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, management reports and performance dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with Sri Lanka Accounting Standards (SLFRS/LKAS), statutory regulations, taxation requirements and corporate governance policies.
- Manage cash flow, treasury operations, working capital, banking relationships and liquidity planning.
- Analyse variances against budgets, provide strategic recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Conduct financial analysis, business modelling, product costing, profitability analysis and investment evaluations.
- Strengthen internal controls, accounting processes and safeguard company assets.
- Oversee debtor collections, credit control, creditor management and optimise working capital.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and manage relationships with auditors, banks and tax consultants.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or related field.
- Fully qualified CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
- 6–8 years progressive finance and accounting experience, with 2–4 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, food & beverage, distribution or retail preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Sri Lanka Accounting Standards (SLFRS/LKAS) and statutory reporting requirements.
- Comprehensive understanding of Sri Lankan taxation, labour statutory payments and regulatory compliance.
Required skills
- Hands‑on experience with ERP systems.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools.
