Assistant Chief Engineer – Hotel Engineering

About the role

The Assistant Chief Engineer supports the Chief Engineer in overseeing all engineering and maintenance activities at a resort, ensuring guest comfort and safety while maintaining high professional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and manage preventative maintenance, new projects, extensions, and renovations.
• Ensure compliance with fire, health and safety legislation and provide necessary safety equipment.
• Monitor energy usage and implement cost‑saving measures.
• Act as department manager in the Chief Engineer’s absence.
• Prioritise and coordinate maintenance requests with technically proficient, guest‑friendly technicians.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience managing an engineering department.
• Certification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• Familiarity with operations of other hotel departments.
• Strong leadership, people‑management and communication skills in English.
• Analytical, problem‑solving and execution abilities.
