Assistant Chauffeur Controller

About the role

Umbrella Transfers Ltd. is expanding its operations team and seeks a motivated Assistant Chauffeur Controller. Working on‑site in Wattala, you will support drivers and customers in a fast‑paced, 24/7 environment, ensuring smooth dispatch and high‑quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Dispatch jobs and respond to drivers' operational queries.
• Handle bookings and customer enquiries via phone, email and other channels.
• Manage client feedback and resolve service‑related issues professionally.
• Provide in‑person, phone and email support to drivers, advising on best practices, vehicle suitability and service standards.
• Build strong relationships with drivers, customers and internal teams.
• Lead and support members of the customer service team when required.
• Assist other departments during peak periods and perform ad‑hoc operational tasks assigned by management.

Required profile

• Willingness to work on a rota and shift‑based schedule (24/7 operations).
• Clear, confident and polite telephone manner with strong English communication skills.
• Strong customer‑service mindset and ability to handle difficult situations calmly.
• Team player with good problem‑solving and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Well‑organised with good time‑management skills.
