Assistant Accountant – Tax & Audit

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant specializing in Tax and Audit to join our Dehiwala office. The role involves handling audits for Sri Lankan SMEs, preparing financial statements, and managing corporate tax compliance through the IRD RAMIS system.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage audit assignments for small and medium-sized companies, including planning, testing, and preparing audit working papers.
• Review ledgers, reconciliations, schedules and compile audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Sri Lankan accounting standards.
• Prepare corporate income tax computations, supporting schedules, and submit tax returns via the RAMIS system.
• Handle IRD and RAMIS related queries and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Sri Lankan corporate taxation.

Required profile

• AAT qualified or finalist, or part‑qualified CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, CIMA, CMA, or a degree in Accounting/Finance (or equivalent).
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in audit, accounting, or taxation, preferably in an audit firm.
• Experience auditing Sri Lankan SMEs and preparing financial statements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the RAMIS tax filing system.
• Knowledge of Sri Lankan accounting standards and corporate tax regulations.
