Assistant Accountant (Tax & Audit)

About the role

Lead Accounting Solutions is seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant specialized in tax and audit to support small and medium-sized private limited companies. You will work on statutory audits, corporate tax compliance, and financial reporting while gaining exposure to both local and international accounting practices.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute statutory audits independently for SMEs.
• Prepare audit working papers, schedules, and documentation in line with Sri Lanka Auditing Standards.
• Compute Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and file returns via the RAMIS system.
• Draft annual financial statements complying with SLFRS/LKAS.
• Review client accounting records for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Identify tax, accounting, and compliance issues and recommend solutions.
• Liaise with clients, the Inland Revenue Department and other authorities to resolve audit and tax matters.
• Guide junior team members on audit and accounting tasks.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in audit and taxation.
• Fully qualified AAT or partially qualified CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, or CIMA.
• Proven ability to conduct statutory audits independently.
• Hands‑on experience preparing tax computations and filing through RAMIS.
• Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan tax law, Companies Act and accounting standards.
