Assistant Accountant – Full‑time On‑site

About the role

The Assistant Accountant will support daily accounting operations for a seafood import‑export business based in the Puttalam District. This full‑time, on‑site position involves recording transactions, preparing vouchers, and maintaining accurate ledgers.

Key responsibilities

• Record financial transactions and prepare accounting vouchers.
• Maintain general ledgers and assist with accounts payable and receivable.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor petty‑cash and expense records.
• Prepare basic financial reports and support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Ensure proper filing of all accounting documentation.
• Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to resolve billing queries.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and double‑entry bookkeeping.
• Attention to detail and accuracy when handling invoices and financial records.
• Good organizational and time‑management skills to meet reporting deadlines.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with internal departments and external partners.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow financial regulations.
