Accounts Assistant

About the role

HAUK Solutions provides remote accounting support to UK firms from Sri Lanka. As an Accounts Assistant you will work on‑site in Rajagiriya, handling core bookkeeping tasks and ensuring UK‑standard accuracy for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare bookkeeping entries, VAT returns and bank reconciliations.
• Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers and perform period‑end closing tasks.
• Post period‑ending journal entries.
• Work with Xero and Dext to maintain financial records.
• Collaborate with UK teams to guarantee compliance and data integrity.

Required profile

• 1–2+ years of accounting/finance experience with exposure to UK practices.
• Experience using Xero and Dext; familiarity with Syft is a plus.
• AAT qualified or part‑qualified (ICASL, ACCA, CIMA – QBE considered).
• Detail‑oriented, analytical and able to work independently.
• Team player comfortable with UK business hours (night shift in Sri Lanka).
• Leadership of a small team is an advantage.
