Accountant III

About the role

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to work closely with partners across Sri Lanka, providing financial guidance, monitoring, training, and support. This role combines technical accounting expertise with field engagement, coaching, and relationship building.

Key responsibilities

• Review financial reports and supporting documentation submitted by partner organizations, analyzing data for trends, risks, and improvement areas.
• Plan and facilitate training sessions for partners, develop tools and resources, and mentor finance teams to strengthen financial management.
• Travel to partner locations for monitoring visits, spot checks, and financial reviews, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Support compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements, flag risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Build strong relationships with partner organizations and internal teams, serving as a trusted resource on financial management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, audit, compliance, or partner finance management, preferably with INGOs or donor‑funded programs.
• Strong facilitation, training and stakeholder management experience.
• Knowledge of Sri Lanka tax and VAT regulations and advanced analytical abilities.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout Sri Lanka.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of financial controls, compliance and reporting requirements.
