Accountant – Finance & Reporting

About the role

Cargills is seeking an experienced Accountant to prepare timely management reports, monthly accounts, budgets and financial information for management review, and to manage product costing, pricing and related finance functions at our Katana factory.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare management reports, monthly accounts, budgets and financial information for review.
• Manage product costing and pricing, ensuring accurate system updates.
• Monitor customer credit, receivables, collections and perform reconciliations.
• Oversee sales and customer accounting and coordinate month‑end closing with Head Office Finance.
• Monitor inventory, stock movements, consumption, wastage, production efficiency and stock losses.
• Oversee fixed assets, returnable assets, cash and other company assets, including periodic physical verification.
• Conduct month‑end stock counts and ensure proper stock‑taking procedures.
• Review and authorize GRNs, petty cash and other expenses with proper documentation.
• Ensure appropriate provisions, accruals, depreciation and other month‑end adjustments.
• Support process improvements, system changes and finance‑related projects.
• Develop team members and promote a culture of financial discipline.

Required profile

• Fully qualified CA/ACCA/CIMA professional.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Minimum 8 years of finance and accounting experience, preferably in FMCG, manufacturing or production.
• 2–3 years of training at a recognized audit firm.
• Knowledge of internal and external reporting requirements, SLFRS and LKAS.
• Strong IT literacy and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills.
• Willingness to work onsite in Katana and travel to other sites as required.
