Accessibility Research Consultant for Inclusive TVET

About the role

The World University Service of Canada (WUSC) is seeking experienced consultant(s) to conduct accessibility research that will promote inclusive youth participation in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) under the STRIVE project in Sri Lanka’s Northern and Eastern provinces.

Key responsibilities

• Assess barriers and opportunities affecting access to TVET and transition to employment, with a focus on young women.
• Conduct gender‑responsive and climate‑resilient community engagement and accessibility studies.
• Collect and analyse qualitative and quantitative data from Batticaloa, Kilinochchi, Trincomalee, Vavuniya and Mullaitivu.
• Prepare evidence‑based reports and recommendations to inform STRIVE’s inclusive programming.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops and disseminate findings to government, NGOs and private sector partners.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in education, social sciences, gender studies, or related field.
• Proven experience conducting accessibility or inclusion research in TVET or similar sectors.
• Familiarity with gender‑responsive and climate‑resilient approaches.
• Experience working in Sri Lanka or comparable contexts.
• Strong analytical, writing and presentation skills.
