Senior Risk Management Analyst - Independence

About the role

EY's Risk Management Services (RMS) team protects the firm from risks arising from its professional practice, including independence, conflicts, compliance, regulatory, policy and security issues, and ethics claims. This Senior Associate role sits in the Independence sub-function, which supports client-serving teams in maintaining EY's independence for existing and prospective audit and non-audit clients. The role executes globally defined processes under EY Global Independence policies, with close collaboration with global teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop working knowledge of firm-level independence concepts and carry out procedures set out in the EYG Independence policies.
• Carry out secondary research and analysis, update EY tools and databases, and act as a subject matter expert in independence processes.
• Review and comment on reconciliations, secondary research and recommendations prepared by Associate analysts and analysts.
• Communicate with audit and pursuit teams to resolve queries and gather information, and stay connected with client-serving teams throughout the request lifecycle.
• Lead knowledge calibration sessions, mentor team members through coaching and knowledge sharing, and monitor team performance against KPIs.
• Explore AI and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency.

Required profile

• Masters or post-graduate degree (Finance preferred).
• 3 to 5 years of experience in secondary research and analysis in a professional services firm; client-facing experience preferred.
• Good English, both written and spoken.
• Basic understanding of company structures, ownership structures, auditor independence and basic risk management concepts.

Required skills

• Secondary research using internal and external databases.
• Interpretation of client company structures and entity relationships under the EYG Independence policy.
• Reconciliation of data and systems, and use of current digital tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and effective prioritization and time management.
