Senior AI Engineer

About the role

Gallagher is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join its Information Technology Systems Delivery team in Colombo. In this role you will translate business challenges into AI‑driven solutions that deliver measurable value across the organization. You will work through the entire AI product lifecycle, from use‑case definition to development, deployment, support, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize AI opportunities in collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Design, develop, and maintain AI‑enabled applications, services, and integrations.
• Build APIs, automation solutions, and AI‑assisted workflows.
• Deploy and operate solutions on cloud platforms using modern engineering practices.
• Ensure AI solutions meet quality, security, and governance standards.
• Monitor production performance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain technical roadmaps.
• Share knowledge and mentor team members to grow engineering capability.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering background with experience in modern AI technologies.
• Ability to work across cross‑functional teams, including architects, security specialists, and data professionals.
