PostDoc in Embedded Systems, UAVs, and Wireless Communication

About the role

The Pervasive Wireless Systems Group at IMDEA Networks seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher to advance experimental research on Optical Wireless Communication for UAVs. The role involves designing, implementing, and evaluating embedded communication platforms and research prototypes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and integrate embedded hardware and software for UAV‑based wireless communication experiments.
• Design, build, and test research prototypes that demonstrate high‑impact OWC concepts.
• Conduct extensive wireless experimentation and generate publications for top‑tier international venues.

Required profile

• Solid background in embedded systems with a PhD in telecommunications, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with UAVs, robotics, or autonomous platforms and a strong publication record.
• Proven ability to design and construct research prototypes and solve complex technical problems.
• Excellent organization, communication skills, and proficiency in English.
