About the role
UNDP Sri Lanka is recruiting two Field Project Associates to support the LANTERN project in the Northern (Jaffna) and Eastern (Batticaloa) provinces. Working under the Social Cohesion Pillar, the associates will assist the Field Project Coordinator in delivering field‑level activities that promote equitable land governance, trust‑building and community reintegration.
Key responsibilities
- Implement project activities at district and divisional levels according to approved work plans and coordinate with local authorities, civil society organisations and community representatives.
- Facilitate stakeholder consultations, community engagement processes and follow‑up actions, ensuring effective communication between field partners and the Project Implementation Unit.
- Collect, verify and enter field‑level data on land disputes, resettlement issues and community concerns, maintaining basic databases and preparing simple summaries for monitoring.
- Document field observations, lessons learned and good practices; contribute to internal reports and knowledge‑sharing materials.
- Provide administrative, logistical and financial support for meetings, workshops, trainings and field missions, including record‑keeping and equipment management.
- Ensure compliance with UNDP policies, procedures and project work plans in all field activities.
