Senior System Engineer

About the role

Cube Networks, a specialist in digital infrastructure, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for its Managed Services team in Colombo, Sri Lanka. This permanent position will support some of the company’s largest Australian clients, managing hybrid‑cloud and on‑premises environments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and update Windows Server environments, including AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and certificate services.
• Configure on‑premises storage (SAN, NAS, direct‑attached) and connect hosts to storage fabrics.
• Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper‑V and Nutanix, building clusters, virtual switches and high‑availability features.
• Deploy and manage Microsoft 365 tenants (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive) and implement identity solutions with Entra ID, Azure AD Connect or Cloud Sync.
• Implement Azure Landing Zones, networking, security and governance (NSG, Azure Firewall, Policy, RBAC) and automate delivery using PowerShell and IaC tools.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience building, deploying and migrating on‑premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills and experience working with Australian or other overseas clients.
• Proven ability to produce high‑quality, repeatable outcomes with thorough documentation.

Required skills

• Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy.
• Microsoft Azure (Landing Zones, networking, security, governance, Azure AD Connect/Cloud Sync).
• Microsoft 365 deployment and migration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Entra ID).
• Virtualization: VMware vSphere/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper‑V, Nutanix.
• Storage technologies: SAN, NAS, direct‑attached storage.
• Scripting/automation with PowerShell.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code tools: Bicep, Terraform, ARM templates.
