Experienced Site Engineer – Building Projects

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Site Engineer to join our construction team. The role involves supporting planning, coordination, supervision and technical delivery of building projects, ensuring safety, quality and schedule compliance. Preference will be given to candidates residing in the Galle area.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise day‑to‑day construction activities on site.
• Review and interpret architectural, structural, civil and engineering drawings and specifications.
• Conduct site inspections, monitor quality and progress, and ensure works follow approved plans and standards.
• Prepare and maintain site records, progress reports, inspection reports and technical documentation.
• Monitor project schedules, identify potential delays and assist with quantity take‑offs, material requirements and cost estimates.
• Support subcontractor performance monitoring, variations, claims and progress payments.
• Implement workplace health and safety requirements and coordinate inspections, testing and certifications.
• Participate in project meetings, providing technical and progress updates.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a construction/site engineering role.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, drawings, specifications and engineering principles.
• Excellent communication, coordination and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good organisational and time‑management skills with strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with relevant construction or engineering software.
