Associate Data Engineer

About the role

iLabs, a global software product engineering company, is looking for an Associate Data Engineer to join its on‑site team in Battaramulla. You will help build and maintain data pipelines that support a variety of fintech, edtech, medtech, and other industry solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in building, testing, and maintaining data pipelines.
• Write SQL and Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
• Help monitor data workflows and troubleshoot issues.
• Support data quality checks and routine platform maintenance.
• Contribute to the development of APIs and data services.
• Document pipelines, datasets, and processes clearly.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and other teams on day‑to‑day data needs.

Required profile

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in data engineering, backend development, or a related area.
• Good Python programming skills.
• Solid SQL fundamentals and understanding of relational database concepts.
• Basic understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and NoSQL concepts.
• Familiarity with a Python web framework such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Basic Linux command‑line skills.
• Strong eagerness to learn and a collaborative attitude.
• Good communication skills.
