Accountant

About the role

The client is a growing overseas education services provider in Colombo seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to manage daily bookkeeping, student fee collections and overall financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Handle day‑to‑day accounting, bookkeeping and issue official receipts.
• Maintain student‑wise accounts, track fee collections, outstanding balances, refunds and payment plans.
• Record and monitor daily cash and bank transactions, manage petty cash and perform reconciliations.
• Process accounts receivable and payable, follow up on overdue payments and settle university and partner invoices.
• Assist in preparing monthly management reports, payroll and employee‑related payments.
• Support tax, statutory and audit requirements while ensuring confidentiality.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 2‑3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Part‑qualification in AAT, ACCA, CIMA, CA or equivalent is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of Sri Lankan tax and statutory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, numerical ability and ability to work independently.
