Software Engineer – Application Support

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer – Application Support to ensure GAC’s business applications remain reliable, available, and performant. The role involves troubleshooting incidents, handling service requests, and collaborating with technology teams to minimise operational disruption.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for business applications, including incident resolution and service request handling.
• Manage customer issues within agreed service levels, ensuring clear communication, timely follow‑up and appropriate escalation.
• Maintain strong technical and functional knowledge of supported applications, infrastructure and related business processes.
• Support application enhancements, bug fixes, testing, releases and service‑improvement projects.
• Monitor application performance and availability, and maintain accurate documentation and knowledge bases.

Required profile

• Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with .NET Core development and production/application support.
• Professional certifications such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft SQL Server Administration, ITIL Foundation or Agile/DevOps are advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
