Security Engineer

About the role

Variosystems AG is seeking a Security Engineer to join its global team and protect critical electronic solutions across industries such as MedTech, Aerospace, and Smart Infrastructure. You will work in a fast‑moving environment, collaborating with colleagues and customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor systems for security breaches, suspicious activity, and vulnerabilities, and respond swiftly to incidents.
• Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies, manage user access rights, and ensure secure authentication.
• Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and recommend improvements.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain firewalls, antivirus, IDS/IPS, encryption tools, and other protective technologies.
• Promote cyber awareness through training and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in information security, Computer Science or related field.
• 4‑5 years of IT security experience or 3‑4 years with relevant certifications.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Palo Alto Networks, XDR, Sophos, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel.
• SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, vulnerability management tools.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR frameworks.
