Program Manager – Volunteer Cooperation Program (Sri Lanka)

About the role

WUSC is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead its Volunteer Cooperation Program in Sri Lanka. The role will oversee program implementation, manage volunteers and staff, and build partnerships to advance gender equality and economic opportunities for youth.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the VCP program in-country in line with development priorities.
• Manage human, material and financial resources, ensuring compliance with WUSC policies.
• Lead volunteer management, including recruitment, performance, security, and emergency response.
• Oversee budgeting, financial reporting and approval of expenditures.
• Build and maintain partnerships with public, private and civil‑society organisations.
• Supervise local staff, conduct training and performance reviews.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in international development, economic development, business development or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum ten years’ experience managing development cooperation programmes.
• At least two years’ experience coordinating intercultural teams and volunteer management (preferred).
• Proven experience in needs analysis, capacity building and training.
• Full fluency in English.
