Floor Technician

About the role

The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining the appearance and safety of commercial floor surfaces. This role involves performing floor care tasks such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and general cleaning while adhering to safety standards and company procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform floor care functions including waxing, stripping, and buffing on tile, carpet, and brick surfaces.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain it in safe working order.
• Apply appropriate cleaning chemicals and supplies according to established procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety signage (e.g., wet‑floor signs).
• Support shift leads by completing punch‑list items and filling in during staff shortages.
• Report safety hazards and stop risky behaviors.
• Use personal protective equipment and present a professional appearance.

Required profile

• No formal education required; 6 months to 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; forklift certification may be required.
• Ability to read and follow instructions, manuals, and safety procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment upkeep, and safe chemical use.
