Container Desk Specialist – Shipping Operations

About the role

We are seeking a Container Desk Specialist to join our dynamic Shipping team. In this role you will manage end‑to‑end containerised freight operations, ensure seamless movement of containers and support cost‑optimisation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the complete container and freight lifecycle from release to return.
• Coordinate vessel schedules, container bookings, freight arrangements, and shipment execution.
• Prepare shipping documentation, customs requirements, invoices, and Bills of Lading accurately and on time.
• Liaise with shipping lines, ports, transport providers, customs authorities, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Monitor freight and logistics costs, review invoices, and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain shipping databases, operational records, and KPI reporting to support decision‑making.
• Support compliance requirements, audits, and regulatory standards within shipping operations.
• Identify and resolve operational issues proactively to minimise disruptions and delays.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Shipping, Maritime Studies or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in container shipping, export logistics or freight operations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with ERP or dedicated shipping systems.
