Communications and Programme Officer – Pathways to Peace

About the role

The Communications and Programme Officer will be based in Colombo and report to the Field Director. The role combines leading the project’s communications strategy with providing technical, administrative and logistical support to ensure successful delivery of the Pathways to Peace project.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the Pathways brand package in coordination with Alinea headquarters.
• Produce communication materials, manage the project website, newsletters and social media content.
• Develop and execute an annual communications plan and an awareness campaign on inclusive governance for public servants.
• Coordinate meetings, workshops, field visits and logistical arrangements for project activities.
• Support monitoring, evaluation and learning activities, and contribute to work plans and progress reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Political Science, Economics, Law or related field; Master’s or specialized training in strategic communications is an asset.
• Minimum five years of experience in project coordination, donor‑funded development projects and communications, preferably in international development.
• Proven ability to work with government institutions, civil society organisations and media outlets.

Required skills

• Proficiency with publishing tools such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
