Assistant Manager – Production

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Production – Beverage & Culinary, the Assistant Manager – Production will lead the Beverage Filling & Packing operations at Nestlé’s state‑of‑the‑art factory in Kurunegala. The role focuses on delivering safety, quality, service and cost targets while ensuring compliance with all food‑safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead filling and packing lines to meet safety, quality, service and cost objectives.
• Ensure strict adherence to SHE, GMP, HACCP, NQMS, and other food‑safety regulations.
• Plan and execute production schedules for optimal efficiency and reliable supply.
• Drive TPM/NCE programmes, continuous‑improvement projects and loss‑reduction initiatives.
• Maintain product quality, equipment reliability and operational compliance.
• Coach, develop and manage the performance of the production team.
• Guarantee accurate SAP/GLOBE data entry and effective use of manufacturing systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support business continuity and innovation.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or Science.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering or quality within the FMCG sector.
• Hands‑on experience with food‑processing, production planning, filling & packing, TPM/NCE and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Fluent in English and Sinhala.

Required skills

• SAP (GLOBE) manufacturing system.
• TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and NCE (Nestlé Continuous Excellence) methodologies.
• HACCP, GMP and SHE compliance knowledge.
