Senior Legal Manager – Colombo

About the role

The Senior Legal Manager will provide comprehensive legal support to a leading export company operating globally. Reporting to senior management, the role covers corporate, commercial, intellectual property, litigation and notarial matters while ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage trademark registrations and all intellectual property matters.
• Handle local and international litigation cases.
• Draft, review and execute commercial agreements and notarial instruments.
• Examine land titles and perform related notarial work.
• Advise management on statutory and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee legal issues related to maritime, international trade, insurance, shipping and cargo.

Required profile

• Attorney‑at‑Law with a Notaries License to practice in English in the District of Colombo (mandatory).
• Minimum 6 years of experience as an Attorney‑at‑Law, including at least 2‑3 years in the corporate sector.
• Experience in maritime, international trade, insurance, shipping and cargo matters.
• LLB/LLM qualification is an advantage.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Computer literate with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self‑motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
