Clinical Researcher – Remote Contractor

About the role

We are seeking a Clinical Researcher to join SME Careers as a remote, hourly contractor. In this position you will act as a Subject Matter Expert, reviewing and creating AI‑generated clinical research content, ensuring scientific rigor and safety. Your work will directly improve the quality of training data used by leading AI models.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed prompts and gold‑standard answers covering clinical research methodology, interpretation, and scientific communication.
• Evaluate AI‑generated responses, rank them for correctness, clarity, and contextual relevance.
• Identify and flag inaccuracies, unsafe recommendations, bias, or misleading evidence in AI outputs.
• Fact‑check medical and scientific claims and produce high‑quality written explanations and model solutions.
• Rate and compare multiple AI responses based on scientific reasoning and methodological soundness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Clinical Research, Biomedical Sciences, PharmD, MD/DO, RN, or related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in clinical research (academia, hospitals, CROs, biopharma, or public‑health research).
• Strong command of study design, endpoint selection, power calculations, and result interpretation.
• Comfortable evaluating statistical reasoning, including effect sizes, confidence intervals, p‑values, and multiple‑comparison adjustments.
• Deep understanding of bias, confounding, and causality concepts.
• Excellent attention to detail, C1‑level English proficiency, and strong scientific writing skills.
